Believe it or not, an England does exist outside of where my relatives live! In the last few days I have really seen some great parts of the country entirely unfamiliar to me before.
I have been on a roadtrip with my uncle. Yesterday we stopped in at the city of Lincoln and checked out their majestic cathedral, perched on the top of the hill. Stained glass windows in the cathedral were fantastic (reflections on the floor below), plus I liked the really old graffiti on one of the pillars from the 17th century (below). But, possibly the most exciting part of the day was my first taste of haggis. Not too bad at all, I might give it another go when I actually reach Scotland. I will have to follow it up with a deep-fried Mars Bar. Ick.

Today, we drove to Whitby, on the coast in north Yorkshire. Whitby is particularly famous for being the place where Captain Cook started out his sea-going career. Well, being a good Aussie, I could not pass up a trip to the Captain Cook museum. I actually had never realised how interesting he was. Then it was fish and chips for tea and a try out of a few different Scotch Whiskeys (in preparation). Honestly, the seagulls here are monsters, and if you don't hang onto your bag of chips pretty tightly, they will identify the weakness and swoop in.

Tomorrow we head to York for the night and the following day I go on to Edinburgh to meet up with friend Amy.
